about

Berlin-based producer Julius began to make music in the early 2000's. He played various instruments for his former main project "ShitZo" which aimed to express deep, dark feelings in a crossover of Hip Hop, Industrial and Nu Metal. After recording their 6-track EP "Dunkle Hoffnung", the band members started to reshape their sound by adding synthesizers and learning how to program them - until they had to go separate ways in 2009.

Life happened as we know it, and Julius was thrown into a very personal metamorphosis that disunited him from music production and forced him to find other creative outlets. Now, more than a decade later, a few happy incidents led him back to where he had stopped.

Branntshatz' debut EP "decade:deaf" emerges from the power of repressed fervor and brings a hint of wackiness with it. Playing with the dirt of Industrial music, danceable rythms and moody melodies, this release is looking for its own kind.

10 years worth of musical creativity, trapped inside a single soul. An overlong period that ends right here, making itself heard under the name "decade:deaf".
